Sportplay KICK Soccer programs run 6 to 7 weeks and offer a unique, fun approach to minor soccer for boys and girls 2-8 years old. This instructional program focuses on developing individual skills & team play in a positive, supportive, non-competitive format.
Children will practice using an authentic soccer ball during class and receive a soccer jersey.
Activities selected maximize participation, ball handling time and skill development. A play component is associated with each skill which allows kids to explore and practice the skills they have learned. Each class will include warm up, instruction time, and adapted game play. Each practice will focus on a different aspect of the game and progress to playing a game at the end of the program.
Soccer Sidekicks - Tot & Parent Age: 2 - 3 years Emphasis: Introduce Gross Motor Skills, Fun, Parent/Child Interaction Class length: 45 Minutes Children are introduced to Gross Motor Skills and sports equipment with a soccer theme. Children will play skill related games and activities while engaged with a parent or caregiver.
Soccer Strikers Age: 3 – 4.5 Emphasis: Develop Gross Motor Skills, Fun, Peer Interaction Class length: 45 Minutes Children are introduced to the Gross Motor and Athletic Skills required for soccer through creative play and games. Introduction to partner work and teamwork.
Soccer Stars Age: 4.5 - 6 years Emphasis: Develop Soccer Skills, Fun, Teamwork Class length: 45 Minutes Children develop the Gross Motor, Athletic, Partner and Team skills required to play soccer. At this level activities include skill combination games, adapted game play and game play.
Soccer Sizzlers Age range: 6 - 8 years Emphasis: Refine Soccer Skills, Fun, Game Play, Teamwork Class length: 45 Minutes This will be a high energy, active program that includes refining soccer skills, combining skills and developing teamwork. The structure of the class will be 15 min. of skill development, 15 min. of adapted game play and 15 min. of game play.
